my portfolio has a butterfly theme and i need a poem that could show how a butterfly grows, using the sun and the trees etc., and it relates well to how a school aged child grows with the help all teachers, and parents and friends. really need help i cant find ANYTHING!
doing a portfolio. anyone have a good poem on butterfly growth tying into a child’s education growth?

If you can’t find exactly what you want, you could always make up your own poem. You could try a formal structure or free verse.

I would incorporate how the butterfly was once in the cocoon,
(how the children were still at home with mommy) and once the butterfly was big enough to fly on it’s own (how the children are big enough to come to school) The butterflies learned to fly using their wings ( how the children are growing up and the things that they have learned. How beautiful the butterflies are(how much you love you children and how much progress they have made. I would recognize all the beautiful colors of the butterfly (recognize all the beautiful colors of your children if you work with different ethnic backgrounds.
I could go on and on! I hope this gives you some ideas.
