I’m apply for a college and I need to submit digital prints of art work and need help with some ideas.?

27 May

I have a few ideas of my own but I would just like know some opinions of what I should hand in my portfolio. And what you think the judges would like to see. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it.
I just started to get into photography and what I like to capture are landscapes at night so I just wanted to know if it’s good enough because this would be my first time submitting a portfolio.

The art I design is unique and one of a kind and I am seeking a company/manufacturer who would consider browsing these designs to add to their portfolio for potential textile print, ceramic tile, wallpaper or other apparatus. I am glad to entertain any offer for individual sale or bulk sale.

What are good colleges in the northeast that offer solid digital arts programs?

11 May

I’m really interested in graphic arts and cinematography, but most of these schools want to see traditional art portfolios when applying.

Truth be told, I suck at traditional art. But with the use of technology, I can really do amazing stuff. My grades are not bad at all, and I’ve challenged myself throughout high school as well.

Is there anywhere you could recommend for me? Thanks! :)

what’s the best inexpensive digital camera for a serious & skilled photographer?

11 Apr

hi, i need to buy an inexpensive digital camera very soon, and don’t have time to research the many customer reviews. the main features i need are:

(1) extremely good rendition of details in both highlights & shadows

(2) high resolution

(3) minimal distortion – i’ll be photographing paintings for a portfolio presentation

other features – not necessary, but nice to have:

(4) optical zoom

(5) whatever it is that digital cameras have that reduces blurring caused by unwanted movement (i hate to mess with tripods).

(6) flash would be nice, but not at all necessary.

my budget is pretty tight. what’s the best i can find in the range of $100 to $250?

also, if you can recommend any quality comparison sites, similar to consumer reports, that would be great. i don’t have enough time to read pages and pages of reviews, so charts would be great.

i always preferred nikons when i taught film photography – canons weren’t too shabby, either. but, as you can see, i know next to nothing about digital cameras.

i’m disabled, and have lots of things to do to prepare for this project, so your input will be very much appreciated.

Thanks!
