What is an important skill to show in your art portfolio?

Do colleges like looking more at technical skills (shading, still life, etc) rather than just abstract things?
ALSO!
Is it bad if you only have contour drawings of figures for your figure drawings?

I will be putting one together next spring, mainly composed of written reflections and papers. Is there anything that comes to mind that you think I should include, or start doing now to make this process easier for me next spring?
ex: Is there anything that came to mind as you were doing your portfolio that made you say, “Gee, I wish I would have written more papers that included XXXX along the way”???
Any insight is appreciated and will help 
Why do the option chains shown in relation to stocks in my Yahoo portfolios only show a limited amount of pric

For example one stock has options which expire in April but Yahoo only shows options expiring in March, May August etc.but leaves out April.
On the American Top Model show does the models get to keep the photos that were taken on the show?

I need pictures from old cars, there is a car show in town. everyone takes pictures to the cars.. Do I still need to ask them permission to use the pics for my web and portfolio?
I know normally I need the release, but I’m not sure when its a public show where public and media can take pictures freely.
Design Portfolios to show universities?

im doing a design related course at university and ive got an interview coming up soon and because i am doing a design related course they require a portfolio of work to show evidence of my work. I was woundering does anyone know what it should consist of because i have loads of sketchbooks but what should i do, rip them out? scan them and put them all together into a file? btw the course im doing is Architecture. Any tips? or from design students?
fanx, what order should you put them in? Like best pieces in the beginning or middle or last etc?
Why does Yahoo show daily price changes on my Fund Portfolios instead of percentage gains?

With all fund closing prices being different the price change per day is meaningless. I wish they illustrated it in terms of daily percentage gains. Why do they not do this?

I have set up a stock portfolio and entered high and low values, I have customized the portfolio and selected the color and arrows ,and still do not see arrows on the stock symbols when I open. what am I doing wrong

I have a lot of different arts that I do I have photography, ceramics, some clothes designs, a few paintings, and a few other nic nac things. How do I put it all in a portfolio, for a high school Internship. I am to have it done this week so if any of you can save me out there it would be helpful.
I Have over 100 portfolios and would like to sort so current ones show first–How do I sort my portfolios?
